"War Horse" begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets - British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter; before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man's Land. The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse, an odyssey of joy and sorrow; passionate friendship and high adventure. "War Horse" is one of the great stories of friendship and war.
What I loved most: Beautifulyl dramatic scenics, touching and intelligent story line,
This movie is directed by Steven Spiegburgh himself, which is reason enough to see it. The great master's touch is all over the movie and you will sense the immaculate attention to details which is to so characteristic of Spiegburgh (e.g. Saving Pte Ryan, Enemy at the gate, etc). Many of the scenes are spectacularly shot, especially the scenes of WW 1 trench warfare. How the horse, on being cornered by the British tank was able to run up the back of the tank to escape is breathe-takingly and miraculously shot and that scene alone makes the movie worth seeing. I fully recommend this movie as a must-see.
