Garden State

This would be it. Centering it's plot around the quote:"We've graduated university, got jobs, then what?" This movie, from start to end, will entertain you, but not in the Hollywood way of sex gore or explosive action. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry, but most importantly, it speaks to the hearts of this generation. The characters are multi dimensional and placed for a purpose. The cinematography, the visuals, are hauntingly mind blowing in a silent way. Zach braff as an actor, producer and director of this show is sincere in his presentation and knows what he wants to get out of the movie, and it shows. A beautiful, poignantly weaved film addressing the post-mtv generation. Awe-some.

The Last Kiss

.. what you'll find is a gracious attempt of an exploration of human psyche in relationships. To be frank, I'm a big Zach Braff fan and i would never have picked this film up if it was any other actor. The story centers around 4 buddies and their lovelife, each with their own problems. Throw in a cheating boyfriend and you get the plot. It sounds silly but this is where the good part kicks in: I'm sure every male in a relationship can relate to one of the four guys (watch it to find out) and every girl can relate to the women in the show. It does well in presenting both sexes' point of view. At the end of the day, it proves there's no real fixed degree of right or wrong in relationships and it helps you appreciate the true beauty of the enigma called love. That's my take on the show, thanks.

Alvin And The Chipmunks

This movie was pretty okay, not as bad as i thought it would turn out to be, but certainly NOT the movie of the year. The chipmunks appeal hooked both children and adults, but at times the plot was quite drawn out. All in all, it was probably an average fun family show with a feel good factor thrown in. My advice would be watch it once and once only, before the chipmunks lose their charm and begin sounding all screamy.

P2

This movie is really nothing special. The concept of having it at a car park was great, and it helped in creating a sense of hopelessness and suspense at the same time. However, the movie as a whole was just okay, a show that would be really enjoyable on cable tv but nothing epic or special. The two main characters stuck to their task well and had good chemistry. The director was really hit and miss for me, where sometimes it'd be classic, while some shots were poor. The story had its loopholes and farfetched parts but its better than crap like the remake of Halloween.

Infernal Affairs

This is my favourite movie ever. Where do i begin? The chinese title really ties in with the whole story and this is what sets the show apart from the hollywood remake. The story, supported by the buddhist theories of rustic hell, was intricately crafted into an intense and breathtaking show. The visuals were breathtaking as well and you could tell that the director Andrew Lau had a certain style in his cinematography, which is something not common in movies of this era. Tony Leung and Andy Lau were brilliant actors individually in the first half of the movie and had great chemistry playing off each other in the second half. The suspense was built very well throughout the film and it really deserves 5 stars. A must see for anybody.

Secret

The story was really really farfetched, but somehow it was made to work. Jay chou may so far have only proven to be a one-dimensional actor, but he is really convincing in that direction. The show was much better than what i expected and there were many segments woven together to hold my attention throughout the show. Pretty good.
