The first thought I had when I finished watching the movie was: Wow, this must be the new standard for animated movies, it was brilliant! Fun, exciting characters that you care about and a wonderful sweet conclusion. The rat was quite a darling in the show and managed to carry the movie through. The kids will love this, the adult will love this, even my grandmother could remember the movie a few weeks later. One of the better movies of last year!

Okay, so the show wasn't dreadful. But judging by the success of the first show, and with a formula that seems really easy to follow up on and reproduce, this show certainly bombed. It just wasn't that good. The writers had 4 years thereabout to come up with some cracking jokes and scenarios but it is quite hit and miss in this film. Harold is still pretty good but Kumar was just too farfetched in this one and seemed quite irritating, unlike the Kumar everyone loved in white castle. All in all the show wasn't bad, just disappointing due to the funny first movie.

This movie was just excellent. The director's playwright roots certainly seem to shine in his big screen efforts and he comes up with a movie unlike the mechanized ones hollywood churns out every day. The film is pretty much split into 2 halves, the first half being an intro and character-centric, which seems boring but isn't because of the wonderful dialogue and acting. Special kudos goes to Colin Farrell who reminds everyone that he can be a good actor. The appearance of Ralph Fiennes at the end serves up more drama and tension and ending is beautifully crafted. In Bruges is definitely one of the better movies of 2008, a must watch for anyone who enjoys their humour and plot and it could even be a possible sleeper for the oscars.

I wholeheartedly agree with the previous reviewer. The story was average and run-of-the-mill. Perhaps the themes and the motifs in the films are excellent compared to the usual crap you see in theatres nowadays. However what made the show stand out for me was the acting. Daniel Day Lewis NAILED the part, from the voice to the look to the behaviour and actions. Paul Dano was a really good supporting actor and I felt he should've gotten an oscar nod, he was a really good foil character for the show. Overall a movie that was really good, but lacked something that made it slightly inferior to no county for old men, and it made the show seem a tad long. A vital ingredient was missing, leaving the audience feeling incomplete.

This movie was awesome. Everything, from the story, to the directing, to the acting, to the sounds, to the themes, to the moral of the story, everything was brilliant. The story was well conceived with the individual events adding up to the big picture, and furthered the plot and meaning of the show very well. The acting, brilliant. If not for Daniel Day Lewis, Tommy Lee Jones would have won best actor. The villain Anton Chigurh was played to a peach. His name and face will forever strike fear into viewers' hearts. Every single aspect of the show was thought of rigorously and this produces a masterpiece of a film. Pay attention to every little detail and it'll make you smile as you find something unique and meaningful from the show. The ending, albeit controversial in that you either hate it or love it, was perfect in my opinion, where tommy lee jones' speech was a poignant ending to the film. Beautiful show. 5 stars

Every year there seems to be one animation that stands out head and shoulders against the rest. Last year it was ratatouille, this year its definitely wall-e. Intrigued by the amazing reviews out of US who saw the show months earlier, I was eagerly anticipating this show. Coming out of it, I was slightly disappointed, its not a 5 star calibre show, but a pretty good one nonetheless. I'd probably have enjoyed it more if I hadn't heard the previous reviews. The story is pretty good and actually has some value. Wall E isn't immediately adorable but grows on you with time. Eventually, the movie begins to click as it goes on and the show is enjoyable, especially for the young ones. A 4star movie for me!
