What I really hated: Mixture of English and Chinese
Distorted the story of Journey to the West to an unbelievable extent. The storyline is totally ridiculous. Seriously, i had quite high expectations but sadly, it is a disappointing movie. A lousy movie with attractive cast & crew.
What I loved most: Cao Ying (Maggie Q) playing pipa
What I really hated: Han De (Cao Ying's Godfather) =x
Differ from long, draggy historical war movies, this movie only touches the main points of the story and quickly leave for another main scene.
Therefore, the pace of the movie is very fast like an executive summary which has all the main lines stated straight to the point. No lengthy explanation.
Due to the fast moving storylines, honestly, not much inner character development seen in this movie but the fighting scenes are rather well done.
The scenes of Maggie Q playing pipa definitely leave a good impression in me but if she will to look more like a Chinese, it will be perfect.
1st of all, i would say At World's End is definitely better than Dead's man chest.
WHY?
The storyline in At World's End is clearer and the pace of storyline is fine at 170mins, whereas for Dead's man chest it was kinda draggy.
Chow Yun Fat - he died fast & simple, just a canon ball flies in - no story builting on his death, lol. at least die for someone or die in a fight? nothing.
also, with only showing him struggling orlando and giving depp a punch, too little action for him.
maybe he's too expensive to have more.
Orlando & Keira Knightley - um..consider 'beautiful kissing' scene in the middle of a Battle? lol.
Keira's captain outfit is...it does not have to be gorgeous..weird and too dull simple.
FIRE!
