If you have compared Initial D and Kungfu Dunk, you'll find the character for Jay Chou suited him to a T - Takumi, a dull and bored character who didn't even know he was driving at high-speed; only being concerned with delivering Tofu.
For this it's....what's the morale of the story???
What I really hated: The boastful student-child and prejudiced teacher
Well...I loved it!
Was pondering between CJ7, Kungfu Dunk and Ah Long Pte Ltd - no chance for the rest.
Initially I was thinking, what sort of movie would I be watching? E.T.? Sci-fi? Comedy?
It had everything in it, and Stephen Chow still provides the many twists in this film.
Kungfu Dunk, sadly, is only for Jay Chou fans.
Ah Long Pte Ltd?? Watching this during the Chinese New Year broods bad luck!
The director chose to focus too much on the love story of Rose and Jack itself, rather than the actual events of the tragedy. No doubt it is stunning in visuals, but in terms of storyline it is still pretty mild.
Kate Winslet no doubt rose to fame with this movie, but is her acting really convincing?
What I loved most: Stunning costumes and getai scenes
What I really hated: Hokkien mixed with Singlish
Initially thought what sort of movie it would be, ended up it was pretty touching in the final parts of the movie (not too much spoiler here).
Narrative in the sense, it is seen from the eyes of Qi Yu Wu who plays a deaf-mute in the show.
You would see getai in a difference sense, and coming next year, when the Hungry Ghost Festival nears, I'm sure the main thing that comes up is 881.
Good movie to watch for kids and adults.
The only thing was the draggy plotline.
Otherwise than that, it's a pretty cool movie with awesome action scenes!
The plot being centred around human beings, in a world of machines, is a story that has been brought back to life since the 1980s.
Maybe a prequel to that - Ghosts of Yesterday could be made as well, as to the origin of the Transformers?
