Needless to say, the visual effects of Spiderman scores high. I like the swift and skillfully produced computer graphics simulation the moves of Spidey, Harry and the rest of the bunch. The storyline was another pull factor of the movie. The super powered-characters not only take on a villain’s persona but also a "righteous" side that reveals the feely part of their partially wicked heart. Although it is said that the wearer of the black costume/substance will take on a dark personality, I do believe rather, that it brings out a latent wicked nature of the wearer that was already in him. Just my 2 cents worth.
One thing that I found not meeting my expectations would be Tobey's acting as Spiderman. Maybe he should start feeling more natural acting his role. It seems to me that he still feels uncomfortable playing the superhero in this 3rd installment. In Marvel's books, Parker is portrayed as a suave and savvy freelance photographer/ student and not a boyish crybaby with tears gathering at the corner of his ears after a breakup request. I was hoping that Tobey can bring out the masculine-ness of Spiderman.
What I loved most: Interesting Perspective to monotonous living
What I really hated: Queen deserves more scenes!
Have you lived everyday of your life so predictably the same that whatever change that comes your way would seem like a total disrupt to your journey? Howard had and he found it an absolute delight counting toothbrush strokes, walking steps and even break minutes every single day. All these with the help of his watch. Wait a minute, so that means he's been controlled by the minutes of his watch, his not so ordinary watch. Howard went berserk when one morning he heard a strange voice narrating his every movement. A kind literature professor cleverly analysed that he could very well be a character of an eccentric writer's story. The worry came when Howard realised that this writer has a habit of killing her heroes and set on a trail to find her. Howard has to adapt to a totally new lifestyle, taking his Professor's suggestion to delay the progress of the story by not doing what he usually does.
Well looking back, we are just like that. We'll continue to live life as it is, doing the same old thing, indulging in the same old habit until something happens nd forces us to change and progress. Sometimes we do need a little push to get us moving. I had a little laugh at myself as I enjoyed the show.
This is one true story that is very reflective of Singaporeans who are ultra mega determined to get to the top , with a dream to obtain a better quality of living. A very inspiring movie that will encourage you to work harder.
A set of lines which the Gardner said to his son:
"Don't ever let someone tell you, you can't do something. Not even me. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you that you can't do it. You want something? Go get it. "
To side track, it is pretty cool to find out why Happiness is spelled as Happyness in the movie.
You should also watch out for little Smith's debute performance on this set with his daddy dear. The pair just add sparks into the story.
What I loved most: fantastic singing voices and acting skills
I can now sing every song in this 1996 broadway musical remake. The voices are even better this time round! The plot is realistic and heart wrenching, the acting is natural and draws the audience into the show. I could sense the sincerity of the film maker as he dish out this serving of jobless individuals struggling to pay Rent. It also reflected the cruel reality of the economy rejecting workers who are Aids-stranded.
525,600 minutes how would you measure a year? This impressive a capella stomp out the first few minutes of the show and immediate stole the undivided attention of all. It is film that captures and commands naturally your keen eyes!
What I loved most: A cure for superstitious gaming addicts
What I really hated: boo! nightmares? Na, Too much screaming that is...
This movie kind of reminded me of Jacky Chan's New Policeman Story. There is this part of the story where whatever encounters that the gamers in the story experience while gaming, it will be reiterated in lives. Thus if they were to be killed gruesomely in the game, the same thing will happen to them almost immediately after they witness their on-screen death. It is enough to scare young kids and to discourage them from playing too much computer games. Haha... Overall, I thought the movie was just average.
What I loved most: An Unusual Perspective of a controvesy
What I really hated: If you're looking for wishy washy drama, you're knocking on the wrong door
I thought it was a very unique way of looking at a story which many already know. The death of an ex-princess: A royal state concern or just a quiet family affair? As much as Queen E wanted to remove the hoo haa from the public by keeping really low in action after Diana's passing, the people of the country became paranoid of her seemingly lack of attention to the matter. This movie allows us look at the situation from within the royal family's perspective and shows us how they felt and handled the public jeer. To add a little jingle to the monotony, Hugh Grant was acting as Mr Tony Blair yet again (since Love Actually). We can expect a similar spark of expressions from him during scenes where he's away from the public eye. These little gestures reminds us that these distinguished public figures are imperfect "feely humans" still.
