Milk

What I loved most: The candle mourning scene whereby gays march onto the streets

What I really hated: Lengthy Conversation

The sad story of how California's first openly gay elected official, Harvey Milk, a San Francisco supervisor who was assassinated along with Mayor George Moscone by San Francisco Supervisor, Dan White. Harvey Milk (Sean Penn) started out in a small town in California doing film developing and was often seen as an outcast by the society. He slowly tapped onto the gay society to support his business and soon gain wide popularity for his outspoken character.Harvey wasn't ashame to admit he's a gay and often fight against the cops who at that point of time, are very much bias and shown deep hatred for the gays.Harvey saw the injustice and decided to fight for the gays by running for the post of Supervisor in the office. After much failure,Harvey was finally elected and bring the much-awaited justice and fairness that is lacking in the gay society. His actions made him a target for many, incl his colleague,Dan White. When Dan was sacked,he blamed his failure on Harvey and decided to kill Harvey. This movie is based on a true event and all characters are real.Harvey Milk was the first person who fought for the gays and ensure there were gay rights. This show is quite underrated and i believe it deserves more credits.

Frost/nixon

What I really hated: Lengthy Conversation

is not your average movie. It has no special effect,no big cast and definitely not the show you wanna watch on a weekend. This show however has suprised me with it's compelling storyline. This movie is abt an interview done by a game host,David Frost. The subject of his interview? The fallen president of United State,Richard Nixon.Based on a true event, the Watergate incident,Frost wanted to gain more popularity by interviewing Nixon.Nixon was forced to quit as the president as he's suspected to be the mastermind of the Watergate event.Nixon nvr admitted to the crime.Frost saw his chance and paid for an exclusive interview with Nixon, determined to find out the answers..answers that every American is dying to know. With the stage set, both men cross swords..Who will emerge victorious? You gotta watch it to find out the answers...

Slumdog Millionaire

What I loved most: The storyline

What I really hated: Language Barrier

Slumdog millionaire success has suprised many, incl it's cast.Nobody expected it to generated that much success. Slumdog is depicts the story of how Jamal(Dev Patel) who lives in the slum, managed to come up with the answers. The narration of the answer forms the body of the whole movie. His rag-to-riches journey, his pursue of his happiness and the various obstacles he faced are what you expected to see.Danny Boyle has shown to the world that he still have that Midas touch..turning even a Bollywood movie into a HollyWood fave.

The Wrestler

What I loved most: Great and Solid performance by the cast

What I really hated: Unfinished Ending

Micky Rourke has stage a comeback with this outstanding performance.Mickey starring as an washed out wrestler who return to the ring one more time to relive the moment. Not only does this movie show us the life of aged wrestler,it also show us that wrestling is just a pure form of entertainment which caters to our quest for violent. The blood, sweat and tears behind each wrestler, the pain, the life after their retirement are displayed and shown in this movie.I would say it's a must-watch for all wrestler fanatics.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button

What I loved most: Great Performance by supporting cast

What I really hated: Long storyline

Basically it's just abt a guy who came into this world as a baby and leave this world the same...as a baby. It's quite the art-house movie type,u know...those which is either u would love it and understand or you dun.Benjamin Button life is a life that's different from others. He experienced how it's like to be old when he's young and vice versa. The journy of his life tells of an amazing story which compel us to think of our own life and how the way we wanna life it.You be left thinking of the show, even after u left the cinema. Then again, like what i said..it's not everyone cup of tea

Red Cliff Part 1

What I loved most: Tortise battle formation

What I really hated: Too little battle scene

John Woo foray into directing and producing the movie based on the infamous was a sure hit with most viewers ( Judging from the various review written in here and not to mention the full hse situation when i was watcing it ). Red Cliff is just one of the various battle scene in ROT3K and to bring the story to life,it need great cast n great directing.John Woo has certainly earn himself of one of the best director in Asian. The cast of Red Cliff is also giving their best, with Tony and Takeshi teaming up together, both are great actor in their own right. Red Cliff is a sure-worthy movie to watch, must watch and can watch...
