(Probably) The most touching movie I've ever w

What I loved most: Everything. The movie really pulls you in and you feel yourself going through the very same things C

What I really hated: Nah. Is there such a thing as too good?

I cried buckets in this movie. If you want to have a good drain of possibly all the moisture in your body, go for this movie. It's not just that they make you cry, it's that they have you smiling while you cry. I think they call it tears of joy. But why are we feeling happy? Isn't it just a movie? Nope, what this movie does, is it really draws you in and keeps you there till the very end. I love a movie that leaves an impression. Some are just flings, they die off into some part of my mind in a while. I think this one will stay there for life. Definitely more than worth the watch.

A father and son bonding movie.

What I loved most: Bits of humour thrown in eg the shirtless interview sequence.

What I really hated: The slow pace and a predictable storyline.Unbelievable, but it had a fairytale ending too!

The story takes a while to unfold and we are dragged into the struggles of a medical salesman who has to cope with an unsupportive wive and a growing son. Junior is the best actor of the lot.The movie is mainly about how this guy overcomes adversity to achieve ultimate success. Movie is slow in parts but is able to sustain the viewer's interest.Message is simple : When you are down bad luck comes in droves and you got to make your own luck. Overall watchable.

An Inspiring Story brought to Life

What I loved most: The Love of a Father and Son

What I really hated: The Rejection and Misery

This is based on a real life story of Chris Gardner who overcame immense adversity from being homeless and rising to the top as a stockbroker. Convinced a new product called a "Bone Density Scanner" was his ticket to providing a better life for his family, he bet his entire savings into it. Needless to say, our intrepid salesman faced lukewarm response and as time went by, accumulated a debt of unpaid taxes, long-overdued rents and daycare payments. His wife, Linda got tired of his empty promises decides to leaves him and moved to New York. A chance meeting with a succesful stockbroker on the streets inspired him to nab an internship with a top brokerage firm but there is a catch - no salary during internship and only one in twenty interns gets hired. Soon, he was evicted from his rented apartment and thereafter, from a low-rent motel and found himself out on the streets, sleeping in public toilets and charity homes while juggling work, studying for exams, sales calls and taking care of his five year old son. Although there was temporary reprieve when he did manage to sold the last of his x-ray machines but the much needed cash was taken away from under his noses for the taxes he owed the city of San Francisco. The interaction of chris and his son as they journey across town on trains and buses as well as lining up in from of charity home for a place to stay overnight cements the relationship and trust between a father and son. Will Smith gave a great performance worthy of his oscar nomination especially in the scenes where he is at a lost and could not do a thing to help himself were gut-wrenching. His joy or should I say "Happyness" at the end of the movie was absolutely believable and tear-jerking.

An inspiring film which reflects some realities...

What I loved most: when Chris Gardner squabbled with the homeless for a lodging

Imagine you were burdened by a series of disastrous events- a job lost, when your love one left out of the wedlock and on the verge of losing a roof over you... what else could you be movitated to challenge these odds?Well, The Pursuit of Happy'ness had inspired you to move with a never say die attitude. Indeed, it was a fine tuning movie without any deliberate emotional appeals. I was moved by a few scenes-- Chris Gardner was using the 'time machine' to allure his kid; when he succumbed to tears while holding his son in a train public cubicle; and the final moment when he passed his internship( as a broker)... Also, the 5 year-old son, Christoper had created some light hearted moments by cracking a few jokes with his dad... Were you feeling happy for them at the ending when both hand-in-hand walking towards their very own apartment and perhaps, their dreams... I was.
