Movie Plot Back to top

A young boy lies awake in his room one snowy Christmas Eve, excited and alert. Breathing silently. Hardly moving. Waiting.
He's listening for a sound he's afraid that he might never hear--the ringing bells of Santa's sleigh. The time is five minutes to midnight. Suddenly, the boy is startled by a thunderous roar. Clearing the mist from his window he sees the most amazing sight--a gleaming black train rumbles to a stop right in front of his house, the steam from its powerful engine hissing through the night sky and the softly falling snowflakes. The boy rushes outside, clad only in his pajamas and slippers, and is met by the train's conductor who seems to be waiting just for him. "Well, are you coming?" the conductor inquires. "Where?" the boy asks. "Why, to the North Pole--of course. This is the Polar Express!" What unfolds is an an adventure which follows a doubting young boy, who takes an extraordinary train ride to the North Pole; during this ride, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery which shows him that the wonder of life never fades for those who believe.

A very low budget animationTwo ord

Two words ay it all: low budget. It was absolutely Horrific . A very awkward animation, with idiotic 3D animation. Far worse than Bolt. And it is definitely no because it is he first movie of its kind of any sort. I Don't even think Tom Hanks deserves any credit of any sort. Plot: The Polar Express is a story of a young boy (Daryl Sabara) on Christmas Eve who is hoping for belief in the true spirit of Christmas. He suddenly hears some noise from down in the kitchen, after realizing that it was his parents, he runs back to his room and looks at magazines and encyclopedias for confirmation of Santa and the North Pole, he then hurries back to his bed and his parents talk in a whisper about how the boy has been staying up all night waiting for Santa. After he had temporarily fallen asleep, a magic train called the Polar Express pulls up in front of his house and he is invited by the train's mysterious conductor (Tom Hanks) to journey to the North Pole. On the train, the boy encounters other kids who are on their way to see Santa. The boy also encounters a mysterious hobo (Tom Hanks), who lives on the top of the train, and the two engineers (André Sogliuzzo). They then reach the North Pole and find out that a lonely boy (Jimmy Bennett) in the back of the train does not want to see Santa (Tom Hanks) because he has come from a broken home on the bad side of his hometown, Christmas doesn't work out for him that well. The boy and girl (Nona Gaye) convince him to come with them, but the last train car is disconnected from the main train by the boy stepping on the release lever and they travel through the North Pole, only to find their way back to the heart of the city. The boy then says he believes in Santa and the spirit of Christmas. He then sees Santa's reflection on the bell. The boy is handpicked by Santa Claus to receive the first gift of Christmas. Realizing that he could choose anything in the world, the boy asks for one beautiful-sounding silver bell that only believers can hear from Santa's sleigh. The boy places the bell in the pocket of his robe and all the children watch as Santa takes off for his yearly delivery. Later, the boy discovers the pocket of his robe torn and the bell missing. On Christmas morning, his sister finds a small present wrapped under the tree. The boy opens the box and discovers that it is the bell, delivered by Santa who found it on the seat of his sleigh. When the boy rings the bell, both he and his sister marvel at the beautiful sound; but, for some reason, their parents don't hear the sound of the bell. The last line in the movie repeats the same last line from the book: "At one time, most of my friends could hear the bell, but as years passed, it fell silent for all of them. Even Sarah found one Christmas that she could no longer hear its sweet sound. Though I've grown old, the bell still rings for me, as it does for all who truly believe." And with one sparkle of light hitting the bell, it fades to black. Comments: A perfect Christmas animation????? Not in a million years. I regard this as the trash animation of 2004 Just horrible. Rating: 1.5/5 (30%) Conclusion Horrific.
