A love story set in the 1920s about a young English couple--a conservative doctor and a restless society girl--who marry hastily, relocate to Hong Kong. There they betray each other easily, and find an unexpected chance at redemption and happiness while on a deadly journey into the heart of ancient China.
I went to watch the movie not expecting anything spectacular. I thought it was just another classic movie in the English setting.
However, I am pretty impressed after the show. It was moving, very human and has a very strong story to remember about love and forgiveness.
Other bites - awesome scenary, story line is great and builds up slowly to the end, love the piano recitals in this movie.
No regrets!
