What I loved most: Joan Chen, 715 and that little Aussie kid
I really enjoyed this film. There is a good-looking cast who portrays commitment to their craft. The visuals were stunning. An inspiring and touching film which could possibly bring tears and heart-wrenching moments.

Intruiging at best, convulated at worst.
Joan Chen would perhaps be the saving grace for this film. Chen pulls off a seemingly complicated and angst filled character with remarkable ease and depth that would not be present in most other actresses. The plot does get some good development in the beginning, but loses steam towards the end when things starts to get really tensed and complex. Despite a strong showing from Chen and some of the Austrailian actors, this film is hardly engaging enought to connect with the audience. It infuses many different ideas and emotions that weighs down heavily on the audience. This is the sort of movie whereby it's either you get it or you don't. Personally, i didn't really capture what the film was trying to say. But, i was definitely enthralled by Chen.

Good Acting, excellent story.
What I loved most: qi yiwu had a great sex scene with joan chen in the car.
This is based on a true story and it is almost touching to the effect of bringing tears to all eyes.
This story makes you think deeper into the life, feelings and thoughts of Joan Chen. Is she simply sexually deprived or is she needing a man to provide security? Has she done what she has done in order to provide for her children? This movie has deeper meaning to what it seems to provide on surface. Worth watching and in-depth thinking.

I think this is one movie you can't miss. simple story told in a interesting perspective of a child. very touchy scenes and real moments that would cause tears if not warmth within.
I was glad that Raintree was part of this but was dissapointed to know that almost 80% was done in Aussie and by the Aussie. I wouldn't regard this as a Singapore Production but definitely a milestone and experience for Singapore.
The acting was Oscar Worthy, Chen Hao (Rose) played the role as a mother; also the protagonist of the story. Very impressive, I am indeed convinced of her skills. She managed the role as Rose(Mei Gui) with deep affections and expressions. You can 'feel' the entire character and would cause you to figure her thoughts.
The young chinese boy, (Rose's son) was great too. Interesting casting though QiYiWu was rather out of place. But he sure has what it takes to be a internationally known artist, all he needs now is experience.
Good show, watch it.
