An ex-ship captain arrives in the West to marry a rancher's daughter and finds himself caught up in the middle of a feud with a rival rancher. Soon, he becomes disillusioned with the bickering and, seeing that his-wife-to-be is agreeing with it all, he meets in falls in love with a local schoolteacher.
