"The Cabin in the Woods" provides a new twist on a classic scenario - in this case the young-people-stranded-in-the-woods type horror. Jenkins and Whitford will play white-collar co-workers with a mysterious connection to the cabin. A group of college kids spend a weekend at a mysterious cabin in the woods.
What I loved most: Meta-symbols that attribute to different horror movies
What I really hated: Not much, acting could've been a bit better
This movie requires some intellectual capacity to appreciate as in satirically alludes to all the different cliches in horror movies and does so using really subtle symbols that also pay homage to specific scenes from different horror movies. Brilliantly done. It's funny in a very... subtle way. Way worth a 2nd watch just to be able to see all the symbolisms without having to worry about the plot.
