Orked is ten. Mukhsin is twelve. They meet during one school holiday and quickly become the best of friends. They play together and even dress alike. But everything comes to an end when Mukhsin has to go back to his village. Mukhsin never promised that he will be back, but Orked assure that she would ask her parents to drop by at Mukhsin's place, but a misunderstanding between them has changed everything.
What I loved most: Every scene where they ride the bike
Mukhsin is a prequel to Yasmin Ahmad's Sepet and Gubra. Orked was only ten years old and during the holidays, she met Mukhsin, who was from another village. They became best friends and soon, Mukhsin started to develop feeling towards her. But stuff happens and things began to take a different turn. Mukhsin had to go back to his village and a little misunderstanding between them threatened their friendship. Most of the cast in this film are relatively new talents and some of the acting may be raw. But in my opinion,it wasn't disappointing at all. Mohd Syafie Naswip (Mukhsin) was very charming throughout the film. It was indeed a brilliant performance by both Mohd Shafie Naswip and Sharifah Aryana (Orked). The visuals throughout the movie were also amazing. Yasmin Ahmad (Director) managed to capture the serenity of the village. The lush grenery and the whole atmosphere of living in a rural area was very enlightening. There are many memorable scenes from this movie. I can spend hours typing everything out. I really recommend this movie. Mukhsin is defintely a must watch! It will make you want to fall in love all over again, trust me!
