Billy Beane (Brad Pitt), the general manager of the Oakland A's and the one who assembles the team has a sudden sense of realisation that all of baseball's conventional wisdom is wrong. On a tight budget, Beane is forced to remake his team and will have to outwit the richer and flamboyant clubs. He teams up with Ivy League graduate Peter Brand (Jonah Hill) in an unusual partnership, hiring bargain players that all have their own talents even though dismissed as flawed by talent scouts. To Beane, it's much more than just baseball, it is a revolution that goes against the traditions and puts Beane in the eyes of those who say he's tearing the heart and soul out of baseball.
