Meet Dave

What I loved most: Interesting idea (e.g Human as spaceship)

What I really hated: As usual, lame jokes

Nothing special or REALLY funny about Meet Dave. I mean it's funny, but definitely wont makes u laugh ur ass off kind of comedy. Do watch it if you have nothing to do while u're bored.

Thinking about meeting Dave? Before that, get this - the aliens have landed!

This time, there is a special side-splitting twist. The spaceship is not the conventional saucer or domed disk that we are all familiar with, rather it is in the form of a pleasant looking and nattily dressed human name Dave. He is an exact replica of the one-and-three-quarter-inched ship captain (Eddie Murphy), just much, much, much bigger in size.

"Meet Dave" seems to have the perfect blend of "RoboCop", "Star Trek" and "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids". In this movie, the inimitable Eddie Murphy is not accompanied by his trademark infectious laughter. Instead he possesses a rather pretentious and "mocking" laugh that will equally tickle your funny bone. It's hard to keep a straight face when Dave imitates the people around him, trying so very hard to blend in but always ending up doing the exact opposite. His exaggerated facial expressions are priceless especially when he is supposedly grinning.

The so-called "love" feeling that Dave has for the Earth Woman, Gina (Elizabeth Banks) seems very tame and more towards friendship love. However, love is definitely on the agenda within the spaceship – between Captain and one of his crew members.

At the climax, you might find the storyline lame – but at least it is nicely accompanied by CG-assisted special effects. Overall, this is a great family film to catch if you're a fan of Eddie Murphy of if you are just looking for some nonsensical movie to laugh at on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
