Cinema Online's Review Back to top

When we hear a movie title like "Krazzy 4", the first thing that comes to mind is a time-wasting slapstick comedy involving four guys, but you'll be truly surprised with the outcome. "Krazzy 4" truly sticks to the title, which refers to four crazy guys who are trying to fit in to society or the so-called "uncrazy ones". The four crazy men are trying to get life back on track after being in a mental institute for almost four years. They find true meaning in life again when their doctor, Dr. Sonali (Juhi Chawla) whose motto is to treat them with her heart and not by mind.

The story begins with the short introduction of the characters and no better way to start than with Raja (Arshad Warsi). Raja has anger issues with sparks in him whenever he is not happy with a particular thing. This has cost him his job and his steady girlfriend who leaves him, resulting in his stay at the mental hospital. Then there is Dr. Mukherjee (Irffan Khan) who actually has a family with good standing in society but choses his insane path to the mental hospital when he becomes a clean freak and also tries to be a doctor for real.

Gangadhar (Rajpal Yadav) on the other hand is freedom fighter. The only problem with him is the freedom that he is fighting for has been long gone and done with. He refuses to accept it and whenever there is something to do with his country, jumping in without a second thought. Last but not least is Dabboo (Suresh Menon) who pretends to be deaf and dumb despite being able to hear and speak just fine, which nobody understands. He also thinks like a kid all the time.

Dr. Sonali believes that her four patients can actually recover if they are given a chance to meet the outside world again and she decides to take them for a cricket match far away from the mental hospital. Awful things take place on the way to the match with Dr. Sonali kidnapped by a group of thieves and the four crazy guys are left to themselves to handle the situation. To make things worse, Shikka (Dia Mirza), Raja's ex-girlfriend comes back into his life.

On the verge of finding Dr. Sonali's husband RK. Sanyal (Rajat Kapoor), the four patients come to know that he is actually involved with the kidnapping. Why did he kidnap his own wife? What happens when the four "Krazzy" guys are let loose in the streets of Mumbai? Watch "Krazzy 4" to find out the answers to this hilarious tale.

Director Jaideep Sen did very well in telling each of the character's stories and also linking it back and forth throughout the movie. The plot is quite predictable from the second half onwards and as for cinematography, nothing really stands out. The dialogue by "Ashwani Dhir" was really superb, combined with the cast's perfect timing which made the scenes side-splitting. The cast did a very good in portraying their respective characters. Roles by Rajpal Yadav & Irffan Khan especially will stick with you after the movie is over.

Also, not forgetting the appearance of the two biggest Bollywood superstars. Look out for them and get amazed by their dance moves for the title song, which appears after the intermission and also at the end during the movie credit titles. Fans of these two superstars will never be disappointed for sure. There is also a hint for a sequel at the end of the movie.

Besides all this, the movie also concentrates on timeless issues like respecting the elders, learning manners & moral values, cleanliness, taking care of your loved ones, understanding your partner, anger management and patriotism. These issues were well presented by the director through the characters in the film.

Overall, Krazzy 4 is truly an entertaining and funny film, even though it could have been improved in some areas. Go watch it and have a good laugh all along.
