For Austin's hottest DJ, Jungle Julia (Sydney Tamiia Poitier), dusk offers an opportunity to unwind with two of her closest friends, Shanna (Jordan Ladd) and Arlene (Vanessa Ferlito). The three girls set out into the night, turning heads from Guero's to the Texas Chilli Parlour. Not all of the attention is innocent: covertly tracking their moves is Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell), a scarred, weathered rebel who leers from behind the wheel of his muscle car. As the girls settle into their beers, Mike's weapon, a white-hot juggernaut, revs just feet away.
Another film that uses female heroes rather than the typical male lead. Examples like Uma Thurman in Kill Bill and Pam Grier in Jackie Brown. Girls loved it when the villian was destroyed by "Girl Power". True enough, you have to be a big fan of QT to really enjoy everything. If I am not wrong, the second part is actually the first. Which made lots of sense as Kurt Russell (Stuntman Mike) goes on a mad blood bath on the girls. You have to be attentive to the dialogues as they make lots of sense. Its all set in the 70s, which just reminded me of Brue Lee's generation. Yeah its so QT and you gotta love it because you are watching what no other director will give you, himself. His nicely drawn-out characters and plot makes this a must watch if you are a film buff. Its unique and there is only one grindhouse film ever.
