Jonathan is a shy but dedicated pupil while Shane is good at sports but has no interest in studies. Even so, they became inseparable in school and ten years later, are still utterly devoted to one another. For Jonathan, the gradual realisation of his sexual desire begins to cause him great heartbreak. The dynamics between them changes when Jonathan befriends a girl called Carrie, although Jonathan is still desperately in love with Shane.
What I loved most: every single thing
What I really hated: every single thing
Friendship and love r both so beautiful but they do not mix well. To see my life re-created on the other side of the world is a difficult experience. Joyful to be reminded of the joys and painful to be reminded of the pain. There is no easy answer to resolve these issues and thus the ending. They at least could get the relationships out in the open. In my case, one part of the story ended with the rejection that was a lie. Too bad this film will be seen as a "gay" film when it is really about the set of complex relationships that can be held by any three individuals at the same time. Many are confused about the part where Shane has sex with Jonathan: to Jonathan it was just being used again, Shane was drunk and it was just sex, not a reciprocal love. The sex was not what Jonathan was needing. We are all lonely. We all needed to be needed as friends and by one person as a lover. I got the lover and lost the friend forever. Some manage to keep both.
