What I loved most: Sacrifices For the needy
What I really hated: Cruel and killing by the Japanese
This is really very touching movie. It stated - based on a true story. I cried a few times when I was in the cinema watching these. It really touched my heart and I believed to some others viewers too..Those Japanese are really very cruel. Killing like nobody business. But this white guy, George Hogg was willing to sacrifice his life for those orphans even though going through near death experience. He loves the kids like his own, althou they didnt accept him at first, the kids can only speaks chinese and do not know how to speaks or understand English.. however, he have the patience to learn to talk in chinese by himself with some of the kids helps and shows them and teaches them the value of life.. I rated this movie as 5 stars. Great movie

One of the memorable shows of the year
What I really hated: The camera that was used seems like a zoomable one
During the show, you could relate to those refugees who were running for their life and the cruelty of the Japs those day who have no regard for life. But the beautiful part is the life of george hogg was willing to sacrifice his life for those orphans even though going through the near death experience. Not only that, teaches the children about the value of life, thats something worth commenting abt. If you are looking for a g8 story, heres one.

One of the year's best so far!!
What I loved most: Chow Yun Fat's unusual acting
What I really hated: Some cheesy parts
While there's no promotion for this movie, Escape from Huang Shi is truly a disturbing epic journey of a reporter from England that brought all of his heart and effort toward saving the orphan boys in an orphanage in China 70 years ago, when the country is in a huge war. I must say I'm impressed with the acting of the cast of the movie, especially Chow Yun Fat which is unusually funny and entertaining in the movie. But still, the script contains some cheesy parts, for example some scenes that I feel too dramatic or unecessary. But generally, it's a satisfying experience to watch a tale about Nanking that is barely known. The ending is the best part of the movie. Touching and inspiring.
