"Dive!!" is a Japanese movie based on Eto Mori's novel and directed by Naoto Kumazawa. It tells the story of a young diving team whose sights are set on competing in the Olympics.

What I loved most: The dives. Duh.
What I really hated: Strange homo-eroticism of the opening scenes
After the rather misleading, very homo-erotic opening scenes, Dive!! turns out to be a sports movie that - surprise! - concentrates on the sport. The young leads give commendable performances, and the story, while following genre conventions, still manages to throw up a few surprises here and there. It loses focus somewhat in the second act, but wins you over again in the tense climactic competition.
