On one fateful night, a group of ridiculously attractive twenty-somethings try to make their way to safety while every known natural disaster and catastrophic event - asteroids, twisters, earthquakes and the works - hit the city and their path. This eventually brings them to try and solve the series of unfortunate events to end the rampant destruction.
This movie, like its name, its a total disaster!!Don know wat CRAP it is.No story line and it is not even funny..Ifell that I had wasted my time watching this CRAP..Don bother watching, instead of laughing,u will be crying..
Here we go again on another brain-numbing ride that will make your IQ drop to single digits. Seems like "Disaster Movie" could be a movie version to a whole lot of short MADtv skits combined. Amongst other movie spoofs, this time it turns out, quite literally disastrous.
First impression in the beginning of the movie itself was that it was going to be awful - it was neither funny nor witty, but rather a really dull opening that just wasn't meant to please a normal person with a good sense of humour. Caveman runs, mammoth stomps on dude and dude falls face first into a huge pile of dung - maybe small children can get a laugh out of this but I don't know if it's suitable for kids to watch it since it contains foul language, skimpily clad women and the horrifying images of Alvin and The Chipmunks turn flesh-eating monsters.
So in the movie, we have imitators of The Hulk, Beowulf, the guys from "Superbad", ladies from "Sex And The City", Juno, the kids from "High School Musical" and many other potential movie characters to make fun of. It also mixes in singers, namely Justin Timberlake, Hannah Montana, Amy Winehouse and Michael Jackson. By the way, the Michael Jackson scene wasn't even funny but plain pitiful. If you think making fun of MJ's paedophilia is going to be timeless, think again.
I did however, enjoy the part where the kids from "High School Musical" came out. That scene was, now I can finally say this - hilarious! There was even a short "Crank That Soulja Boy" dance routine for that extra flavour. Just ignore the lame "Friends Forever" song part and you'll be fine. There was a particular scene with Alvin and The Chipmunks that got too draggy and mind 'scarring' that you'll never see them as cute ever again.
This movie definitely is a roller coaster ride - started off really slow then picking up pace, slow again as it reached the end and plunged down, never to come up. It wasn't as funny as how I expected it to be, but to compare it with other movie spoofs directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, I believe "Meet The Spartans" was much better.
