Texas born and bred, Dennis Quaid followed in the shadow of his older brother Randy, beginning to act in high school productions and at Randy's alma mater the University of Houston. Success in a 1974 college production of "Bus Stop" led him to head to L.A. and try his luck. With his killer smile, rugged good looks and well-defined physique, Quaid soon found himself in demand. A role in "The Missouri Breaks" (1976) ended up on the proverbial cutting room floor.
