What I loved most: Effects
What I really hated: Story plots
I seldom watch non-Chinese movie but I like Day Watch. The way they do the subtitles are great! Very imaginative! Like the special effects also. Although the story tends to get rather draggy and long but it's worth watching. For those in the media industries, do watch this movie. It will give you new ideas to subtitles and effects.

Day(watch)'s better than Night(watch)

For folks who have not watched the first segment, fear not as there is a much clearer synopsis before the second instalment. The second film takes off after unveiling the 2 Great Others, one each for the good and evil. The Evil wants both to meet and shed blood so that the War can be re-started however, the Good are trying their utmost to prevent such a catastrophe from happening. Throw in Anton, the guy u see from the first movie whose son is the evil Great Other but is also the mentor of the beautiful and pretty good Great Other. Confused yet? Through a series of murders, both sides face a high possiblity of igniting the War and Anton goes in search of a powerful artifact, the Chalk of Destiny. Writing with the chalk will change destiny to your wishes. And so starts the adventure! Audience will also notice that there are more & better CG effects this time round, from the breathtaking car driving on the side of a building to the simple cupping of a man's face imprinted in the snow to make a mask. The Russians come off as extremely creative when it came to storywriting and executing it. It was almost watching the russian version of "The Matrix" but somehow falls short on the glamor and slickness. Also due to "creative editing", the movie might be difficult to follow for some as it jumps scenes back and forth. Yes, thanks to an earlier reviewer, do look out for the creative touch on the subtitles (however this was already present in Nightwatch). Overall, a surprisingly entertaining and creative movie. All it needs is an open and equally imaginative mind to enjoy it.

If you wanna talk about a movie that is unique, this is the one. The show has action packed from the start to the end, with visual effects that are definitely up to standards. The story line for this movie is quite simple, as I prefer mindless violence. Don't worry if you missed the first instalment, "NightWatch", cause there will be a recap at the start of the movie.
The unique part of the film is something that most people take for granted, the SUBTITLES! Look out for it and you will know why I say it is so unique.

What I loved most: Amazing effects comparable with hollywood
If you didn't watch the first one "Night Watch" then go see if, it will greatly help with whats going on in this one.
I have got to saying most of the special effects in this one are stunning of better than the first. Storyline wise might not be as compelling but i can name a lot of other supposedly better movies with storyline that suck 10x more than this.
Ending left me wondering how the development will lead to the final installement which will come next year. What a long wait i guess.
