What I really hated: romance between ruka and genji
i disagree with reviews that commented that Crow Zero has a weak story.
It only meant that the reviewers have not looked past action and pretty lead boys.
The whole point of the movie was not about the romance between genji and ruka, and it is not only about the fighting!
I beg anyone who is about to watch the movie,
do the director, do the writer, do the manga, do the whole crew justice!!
by forgetting the popular actors and focus on every character and how they fit in the movie instead.
they are so much going on, FRIENDSHIP among the Serizawa members or friendship among the GPS members. Why they chose the side they were on and what makes them stay so firm to their leaders. And friendship is only one of the greatest themes of the movie.
Look at the character Katagiri, what does his part tell you?
The two reviews made my blood boil......
"High drool factor"? it is not an idol chick flick.

What I loved most: High drool factor & climactic final scene!
I saw Crows Zero in Japan last October at the Tokyo International Film Festival world premiere with the entire cast in attendance.

In the pre-screening interview, the producer revealed that he had hung on to the script for two years before finally handpicking Miike Takashi ("Ichi the Killer", "Audition") to direct as he felt that the popularity of the Takahashi Hiroshi manga warranted a top director to helm it.
||
Being a flick about high school punks trying to reign supreme at the end of the day in Suzuran Boys' High (aka School for Crows), Crows Zero promises violence aplenty and delivers it. If you are averse to that, steer clear - this movie is not for you.

There is eye candy galore in the form of current IT actor Oguri Shun (TV's "Hana Yori Dango" and "Gokusen") as aspiring topman Takaya Genji and Yamada Takayuki ("Densha Otoko", TV's "Waterboys") as Serizawa Tamao, the current head honcho in Sakuran High. Also expect a romantic side plot between Genji and Ruka, played by Japanese-American model Kuroki Meisa.

Bear in mind that Crows Zero is adapted from a manga and you shall not rant at the exaggerated moves where it seems these guys can go at each other almost nonstop!! Although the same old, same old plot weakens the film, the various side-plots culminate in a rain-soaked final fight scene that will leave you hanging onto the edge of your seat! That the original soundtrack complements the movie rather nicely is a huge plus too. Recommended.

Trivia: The tickets to Crows Zero sold out within an hour on the first day of booking when they were released at the Tokyo International Film Festival!! (the fastest-selling film in the entire festival) I got mine on the day of the movie itself as the organizers had allocated reserved seats for overseas visitors. Top marks as it was a good seat too. (^_^)

What I loved most: the fighting scenes
What I really hated: weak storyline
I watched this movie when I was in Tokyo last year and the fighting scenes were very good. However, the storyline's not strong at all.
This movie is like a "watch once and forget it" kind in my POV. Nevertheless, I really love the fighting scenes between the boys. Apparently the lead actor Oguri Shun mentioned before that some fights in the movie were for real...
