Catherine Hardwicke
Beginning her Hollywood career as a production designer, Catherine Hardwicke eventually rose through the ranks to become a respected writer-director based on the raw and realistic feel of her first feature, the disturbing coming of age story "Thirteen" (2002). Hardwicke's inital forays into production design included such B-level fare as "Tapeheads" (1988), "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka" (1988), "Martians Go Home" (1990), "Posse" (1993), "Freaked" (1993), "Tank Girl" (1995) and "2 Days in the Valley" (1996).
