Based on top selling manga "Hana Yori Dango", the story centres on an elite high school where all of the students are from rich families, except one named Tsukushi Makino. The school is ruled by the legendary foursome of ultra-privileged boys dubbed "F4" (Flower 4). The group leader Tsukasa eventually falls for Tsukushi and plans to marry her by presenting a family heirloom - a tiara. However, the tiara goes missing and sets them off on a wild adventure around the world to retrieve it.

I love the hunks. Heartwarming, Sweet and Lovey-dovey makes me feel warm all over. A great movie for the dating couples. Must Watch and Support Shun Oguri! Makes me watch to watch the drama version over and over again =)

Who rated this movie 4 stars?!?? Sabo...... Thanks to the 4 stars rating, that's 2 hours i'm never gonna get back. This was a complete waste of time. Even as a continuation of the series. BAD. Boring. Predictable. Cheesy. Corny. Bleah.....

What I loved most: Funny scenes, touching scenes...Just watch^^

What I really hated: Will explain in review

I disagree with the previous reviewer. I think, for those who followed this drama series, most will find it a rather agreeable, unregrettable watch. Let's start with the negative thing first okay? Well, the only thing I don't get was why they bothered chasing the tiara in the first place. I would have totally owned up that I lost it if I'm Domyouji. But then again, we wouldn't have a movie^^ and besides, it seems like the typical, right idiotic thing to do for the incredibly rich peeps of Hana Yori Dango^^ As always. Especially for Domyouji. OTHERWISE, the movie was awesome!! There were a LOT of memorable scenes; sweet scenes, funny scenes, cool action scenes. Beautifully done. You can tell a lot of money went out for this movie. Also, a well-rounded up ending as usual!! That's what I like about the live action Hana Yori Dango. The endings are always well-rounded up. Don't you agree? Not many stories nowadays do that. Conclusion: I came out of watching the movie for my third time, perversely wishing that they had made a third drama season instead. I will buy the DVD if it comes out in English subs!!

End of Hanadan fantasy!!

What I loved most: Tsukushi & Tsukasa couple scenes & F4 + Tsukushi scenes

I've personally watch the movie thrice with people who actually watch the drama and some who didn't. First of all, let's talk about those who are fans of Hanadan series. If you are Hanadan fans who started watching from the beginning, i'm sure this Hanadan Final is a well rounded ending to mark the end to this Hanadan Fantasy and the ending is definitely satisying for all Hanadan Fans. Be it the romance scenes of Tsukushi and Tsukasa, or F4 friendship, etc. It's just so loveable. The director is also meticulous to bringing some scenes from the drama in the movie. Actually i would suggest they start the movie with the proposal scene in Hanadan Return. But then again, it's still a good start with showing Tsukushi's upper part of her face like the first two series. Next moving on to those who didn't watch the series, like my friends, they are still able to catch the storyline and also thinks that it is a good show and even manage to justify why i can actually watch this show thrice. Bottom line: Hanadan Final is a best ending to sum up the fantasy of Hanadan which had brought to us Hanadan Fans for the past few years!! Of course, i would be happy that they filmed a season 3 instead of just a 133minutes movie since there will be more Tsukushi & Tsukasa scenes as well as the F4 compared to the 133min movie. Well, let's just hope that like what the director said in the Japan premiere of Hanadan that they might film a Hanadan movie when the cast turns 40yrs old. Hanadan Rox!!

If you're a big fan of the Domyouji-Makino relationship, this movie will be an exciting experience for you as you watch both of them argue their way from Japan to America and Hong Kong to a deserted island in the South Seas in search for a family tiara called 'The Smiles of Venus' that was stolen from the couple. You'll laugh at the familiar jokes that have been "Boys Over Flowers" trademark - Makino's obsession over food, Domyouji's terrible English (some examples are 'extinguish' rather than 'distinguish', 'fallen leaf' rather than 'weed' and his pig-headedness in using the term 'wet feet') and F4's tendency to answer questions simultaneously.

You will also be all giddy and excited when you see all the F4 members together finally in one of the scenes and started to bully Makino as she wails her eyeballs out for losing money in a high stake gamble.

But here's the deal - that is if you are a fan.

Let's put off the 'fan' cap and see it from the outsiders' perspective - those who came to the cinema and saw a colourful movie poster and thought "Hmm, let's watch this movie". It started off great. The director put lots of effort to make sure that there IS a Domyouji Giant and that these guys are truly wealthy and famous and it is somehow believable. Then these non-F4 fans saw the adorable couple and their constant arguing and thought that Makino getting angry for having the picture of her eating a bowl of noodle posted all over the world as the future wife of the Domyouji family is cute.

But an hour later, it's nothing but another draggy Japanese movie. There are lots of 'thinking time' slotted in each scene, then there's the 'I-don't-know-if-this-is-the-best-thing-for-us' drama and then the film kind of goes on to - borrowing TV critics term - "jump the shark" when Makino accidentally punches a bear. And I don't mean teddy bears. I'm talking about real bears. Real black humongous bear that growl echoes around the island.

This movie is definitely for fans. For those who never heard of it, you might enjoy the first hour. Believe me, you have to cherish the first hour because that is what "Boys Over Flowers" really is. The second part just falls flat and turns into another cliched love story that may excite you, or - if you are just not into happily-ever-afters like me - make you yawn. Easier to say, this movie is not for the cynics, the sarcastics, the high-and-mighties, film snobs who snare at every light-hearted romance and of course, MatsuJun-haters.
