Jane Austen (Anne Hathaway) believes in love. Her parents (played by Julie Walters and James Cromwell) want her to marry for money, which was the way of the world for a young woman in 1795 England. But when the 20-year-old meets the dashing young Irishman, Tom Lefroy (James McAvoy), his intellect and arrogance ignite Jane's curiosity and send her spinning head-over-heels. Can Jane afford to spurn the offer of Lady Gresham's nephew, defy the authority of her parents and fly in the face of social convention? In "Becoming Jane", a young lady on the cusp of literary greatness risks a romance that was to shape her life and her work.

What I loved most: The Chemistry is Sizzling!!
What I really hated: Lack of theatres showing this movie
Now, if you are a hopeless romantic and is a Jane Austen's fan, please do yourself a favour and go watch this movie. It has everything in it, Pride & Prejudice, Emma, Sense & Sensibilities and endless amount of wit bantering... now you know why & how she wrote all those wonderful literary works of art. Anne Hathaway did a good job at being the iconic Jane Austen.. she have good comic timing and her pale skin and dark hair make her an almost perfect choice for this period role but alas.. her fake british accent needs a lot more work. Her chemistry with her male co-star James McAvoy makes you wish for the kind of love for yourself (and makes you wish you were born during that period). He makes women weak... don't be fool by his lack of looks.. he is one charming arse! The dances and the bantering between the 2 leads was so wonderful! Warning though: This movie will make you feel all warm and fuzzy and leaves u in despair... (your heart will break into pieces) watch it and you will know what i mean. There was never a moment i wish that i paid attention during my English and Literature lessons so that i could understand their standard of english... even so this is a wonderful romantic movie. I have watched it like 5 TIMES already!!
