What I loved most: everything except the ending

What I really hated: the ending, the accelerated growth rate of aliens from chestburster stage

first off, lets be reminded that a movie review is an evaluation/analysis of the movie itself, to tell others about how the movie went/developed and not about what you WANTED or EXPECTED to see. simply put, try to be objective instead of slandering everything that didnt happened the way you wanted it to. the story kicks off with the 'birth' of a predalien chestburster, which wrecked havoc on the on board predators. poor targeting, probably due to being caught off-guard, results in an airborne disaster. so predator ship crash landed back to earth, with nothing surviving save the hydrid and the facehuggers. trouble ensues as facehuggers ran loose and inpregnated every humans in sight. meanwhile, a lone predator back on predator planet watches the screw ups unfold on live broadcast and hurries down, without back up, to prevent discovery of the fallen predators and to hunt/seek revenge on aliens and hybrid. story then alternates between aliens breeding/feeding on humans who stumbled upon their sewer hideout and development of the human cast. the lone predator exploring the sewer, runs into hybrid and aliens, fights and it spilled, literally, onto the streets. it happened to be night time and from there, aliens broke loose and went amok. from that, a small group of strangers(mostly), brought together by chance of events, stuck together to try overcome and search for means of survival. national guard was called in with miserable back up. back up was immediately slaughtered but left behind valuable weapons and vehicles. all this while, predator continues his hunt of the grand prize, the predalien, while dismissing aliens in its wake. hybrid met the real predator and a good fight scene alternated between that and a split group of humans looking for helicopter transport while fighting off aliens. story ends when humans took off and a nuke destroyed a classis predator vs predalien fight. Storyline: 4 stars. 5 if not for the nuclear ending. otherwise, it was as good as it can get in a movie where the real stars are non-human. Acting: 4. the human cast did their part, and one cannot expect much, again when the leads are all non human. i mean, we all paid to see predators and aliens, not the human cast. Direction: 3.i dont have much comments for this, it just felt not too bad, yet not too great either. Visuals: As good as previous predator movies. standard stuff expected of the predator different vision are all met, nicely done targetting system, especially when the aliens were moving too quickly all over the place for it to get a fix. now, we cant complain about lighting can we? aliens hardly appear in the day, and you'd expect to see clearly these dark monsters at night or in a dark place? this is the scare effect intended i guess, but then viewers are all to exposed to aliens and predators from previous series to really get scared. the scenes where aliens headbite their victims were impressive, and so were those of the predator netting killing trapped aliens. the disc really looked savage. Overall, 4 stars. The Aliens DID not get downgraded from invincibles from the alien series to becoming like ants in AVP2. bear in mind that aliens are only powerful when facing unarmed humans. a well prepared and armed marine can take out aliens, though not as efficient as a predator. when going against predators, aliens arent really much, not when the predator is using plasma cannons and a wide variety of gadgets made to stop aliens. the only time a normal alien is superior to a predator is when it catched the predator off guard and managed to get a fatal move right away. i thought there were supposed to be growth period between a hugger inpregnating to a chest burst, and that burster needing to feed and grow. the scenes did felt rushed, in terms of alien growth.

What I loved most: It's suitable for Singaporean's taste

What I really hated: Too short

It's what Singaporeans will like, great story, easy to understand, perfect for a weekend chill out movie session with friends. Most people do not watch it with a Singaporean's view, therefore they do not understand the true meanings within the script. You may wait for the DVD but watching it in the cinema is much more exciting. Love to watch both parties interact. I give it 4.5/5 from a Singaporean's point of view.

What I loved most: Predator with it's signature pose

What I really hated: The ending is stupid.

Well, watched AVP 1 a few years back, it was quite good and i quickly became a fan of AVP. I was pretty excited with AVP2, even though i admit it's really disappointing with the storyline, but the actions still kept me awake during the show... I expect to see more predators, but there weren't... And i really don't see any alien hybrid in there.. it looks all the same!

What I really hated: Predalien...

Good thing about this movie is... Nothing at all.. From the beginning of the movie till the end. I think the director just graduated from high school.. The story writer too.. The whole show has poor lighting. Don't know if they did that on purpose cause the so called special effects are crap.. Can anyone tell me how the "Predalien" looks like? Fighting scenes was a mess. The ending was so lame. I think the story writer didn't get the money he wanted that's why he was lazy to write an ending so he just nuke everyone in the movie. For god sake, Alien and Predator are the Biggest frictionary charactors in hollywood's history!! Can't the people who made AVP & AVP 2 respect that!! Don't just think of using it to make money!!
