BAD WAY TO SPEND MY NEW YR EVE
What I really hated: poor storyline
i regretted watching this show on new yr's eve. u dun really see or rather know what is exactly going on. fighting scenes too dark to figure out what they were actually doing. anyway we wouldn't have understood how they fought too.

What I loved most: Little tie-ups and homages to the Alien/Predator franchise
What I really hated: Reviewers who have only ever watched this movie
I grew up with Alien, Aliens, Alien III and Alien Resurrection. Just when I thought it was the end, AVP and now AVP2 is here.
AVP2 requires that you suspend most of you pre-conceptions and expectations. The storyline is simple, but then which of the Alien franchise movies won anything for screenplay? Also, I have never seen an Alien movie with broad daylight settings. It just doesn't work. Darkness is used quite a bit, and it might be a little overboard, but I think it heightens the suspense and fright-factor in the movie. The sound is great, with low growls in the sewer systems.
The only let-down was that the Predealien had only a small amount of screen time fighting the Predator. Most of the damage is done by the regular worker-Aliens. Also, I feel the Predator weapon should not be human-workable, and something else should have been done, and handed to Miss Yutani.
By the way, Yutani is 1/2 the Weyland Yutani Corporation who owned the Nostromo, the deep-space freighter that discovered the Alien species back in 1979, and Dallas (the lead character in this movie) is an homage to Capt. Dallas (played by Tom Skeritt), who led the fight (albeit briefly) against the lone Alien in the first movie.
I enjoyed this movie.

What I loved most: The Pred-Alien is a great idea
What I really hated: The Freaky boring Story line and only 1 predator vs all.what the hell.the AVP1 got 3 predators.
Catch it at Eng Wah Toa payoh yesterday, just wanna know how it ended, thus the one predator show without any back up and preparation was deem a very bad story line.I was only looking forward for the Alien/Predator new born breed.its was cool, but the fight scene was darn dark, you need a torchlight to find who is who.A 2 Star rating for me.Waste my $8.50 for a movie thats worth $5 value.Probably they should charge us on the value of the movie, bad or worse movies we pay less, good and blockbuster movies we pay more.worthy.i dont mind throwing $15 for a good iron man movie next.Save your $8.50 and get a great dinner instead..
