Bad bad movie

What I loved most: Predalien

What I really hated: No logic in storyline

A highly anticipated movie which I hoped to be better than the 1st AVP movie but I am very disappointed... 1) What's the logic of a Predalien can impregnating the hosts like a queen? It is illogical to me given my understanding of Aliens.... 2) Chester bursters... I can't help notice that the Aliens burst through stomach instead of chest this time round 3) The Predator and its weapons unaffected by Alien acid blood? 4) The Predalien can easily kill the Predator with its tail, tongue...e.t.c when the Predator is not looking. ...but most of the time it just prefers to bang into the Predator from behind.... logic logic!! 5) Changing the Predator's primary weapon to a hand gun sacrificing the auto aiming just for the sake of facilitating the plot of letting a human use it later.....dumb! 6) Nuking the town? All of sudden I see a Resident Evil plot of taking care of unfinished business 7) Don't predators only take out Armed humans? I never knew they kill anyone in sight.... 8) Not much acting, not much human significant....more of a visual effects monsters wrestling show... I have collected all Aliens and Predator movies....and I am definitely giving this a miss. Not worth the money...

Aliens VS Predator 2

What I loved most: The visual effects of both aliens including the Predalien

What I really hated: Idea of the the Predalien impregnating the hosts..just doesn't make sense.

First of all, a lot of viewers have a great misconception towards the original characteristics of both aliens. Many expect this show to feature teams and armies of both species, as if it's a war conflict. But by reading the title carefully, it's already stated that it's ALIENSSSS vs. PREDATOR (singular). By the way, the characteristics of the Predator has always been a HUNTER. And a Predator fan would know that a Predator always hunts ALONE. The storyline however, I admit is a little disappointingly too straight-forward, when you have such formidable characters to play with.. especially when you have created a new hybrid with the aliens. The combination of both species battling out could have been more creative since both are formidable it their own ways. Lots of flaws are expected along the way as you watch this show. For example, one of the alien's strong points would be its acidic blood which seems to be able to melt through anything. Amazingly, the predator was able to step on its skull on one scene and the battle scene with the Predalien was comical. Somehow or rather, the Predalien was accommodative enough to wait for the Predator to heroically remove all its weapons and mask (as seen in Predator One) and then start the battle again. Another punch to the alien's character was that how could the Predalien impregnate the hosts?? It was never a queen or rather, even if mixed with Predator DNA, was never supposed to breed in this way. I feel that this plot was poorly executed with total disregards to the Alien character. And as if it wasn't enough, the Predalien with the DNA of the Predator could produce the regular-looking aliens. I was expecting some other gruesome alien hybrids since the impregnating execution was so "refreshingly new". The directors did promise a more gory film than the previous AVP1 and basically, that was their only focus: to make you cringe at the sight of exploding flesh every now and then. They also made the Predator more like a hunter rather than an ally of the humans. I agree on the part that the main characters in this film were not the humans, therefore the scripts for the actors seem a little weak. But c'mon, it's AVP... what do you expect much from the humans when the title says it all. The ending I must say, is rather cliched again... disappointing even though both aliens matched out against each other. The bad touch to it was the nuking of the town... AGAIN. If you ever realised, every movie that shows the Aliens always involve nuking them into the oblivion. It seems to be the ONLY way to really get rid of the aliens. Come on, give us something new for once. Killing them one by one would even seem more refreshing than this ending. Overall, I would say this movie is slightly above average even though the storyline is way off. It's entertaining enough as a weekend movie but would never make it into a blockbuster hit. Still, credit must be given to the visual effects of the creatures.

(Aliens + Predator) x 2

When the first AVP was screened and reviewed, many disliked it and criticised it harshly. However, after watching the first AVP, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not as crappy as many had made it out to be. Whereas, in AVP 2, maybe my expectations had risen a little and was not pleased with the 2nd movie. The plot was flimsy and the fight scenes just weren't exciting enough. Didn't understand why predator was breeding aliens which caused an accident on their spaceshuttle that crashed into a little town. Soon chaos erupts as many in the town were decimated. The "crossbreed" was also not prominent enough or its special ability was not utilised to its full extent. Watching the 2 aliens battle it out was just like watching wrestling, but with less acting!
