What I loved most: Navy Seals coverting ops

What I really hated: movie too short

It has been long time since watching movies about US marines, Navy Seals. Like Black Hawk Down, Tears of the Sun, and Special Forces not so long ago, finally Act of Valor, just love to see how US Marines fought against their enemies, it's believed some part of the scenes they used live ammo, that's too risky! The best show this year not to missed!

What I loved most: When the gunship charged round the bend !

What I really hated: The grenade scene. Ouch !

I love this movie. Fast pace, high tech and realistic. The fire-fights were awesome esp with the sounds of `Bam-bam_bam_bam_bam' pounding in your ears ! No joke. Very good show for motivating Special Forces (SF) soldiers, those who are SF wannabe and SF dreamers like me.

im not really a fan of action pack movies, but this is really good! all the techniques they used during the battle? war? was really impressive. makes me want to join the marine or find myself a marine bf! haha

What I loved most: Great scenes of coorditionation of military maneuvers

What I really hated: Whyvmust valor only happened at the end?

If you want to know what being a professional soldier in the US navy seals is like...watch this movie. It's a movie show casing what professional soldiers are about as well as it's a movie of the extensive capabilities of the US Army, Naval and Airforce. It's almost as if this movie was made as a publicity propaganda for recruitment by the US Navy Seals...the last thing being a warning that it may cost you your life. Then again...the underlying message could be that it's all about how you live your life for others, for bravery, sacrificially, and for valor. So anybody for signing-on or joining the army?

Since the 9-11 tragedy, the United States Navy have been recruiting military talents in America as the American troop needs more people to hunt down as many potential terrorists that are trying to threaten national security. Besides using television shows and commercials to send its messages of recruitment around the nation, the Navy works closely with filmmakers to instill the spirit of American patriotism in the hearts of the public through movies, particularly with "Act Of Valor" which is something more realistic and straightforward about the army.

"Act Of Valor" is a directorial effort by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh who want to tell a real story following a bunch of well-trained Navy SEALs who go to Asia on a mission to stop an act of terror and save a kidnapped female CIA agent, whose investigative purposes have been discovered by the terrorists. The story then follows a heart-pumping battle between the SEALs and the terrorist mastermind who plans to blow up the cities in the United States.

Do not expect to see amazing acting performances from the cast because most of the characters are not professional actors, but are the actual SEALs. You may not even remember their faces as the directors focus entirely on the portrayal of modern-day combat and the long process of fighting terrorism. Nevertheless, as you are watching the story, you will slowly understand why the real soldiers are required to play those characters as their professionalism and incredible intelligence in handling war zones has created a huge sense of reality in the stunning combat sequences of the action film.

Despite having some boring parts in the 111-minute movie, the production team has done a great job in engaging the audience with hostile feelings towards the brutality of terrorism when the bloodbath torturing scenes are shown on screen.

Apart from that, whatever the SEALs are going through in their personal lives and missions, will make you feel sympathetic for these elite group of soldiers and their families who are waiting for them to come back home.

Overall, "Act Of Valor" is an average film that you would probably watch for a single time. But do watch it as the ideas of the film will make you have respect for the brave soldiers that serve as a great source of education for people when it comes to the matter of life appreciation.
