Average show, but by no means bad

So this wasn't exactly a show that breaks the 'average' barrier, but it was still interesting to watch and still worth the cinema ticket price. Jim Sturgess and Kevin Spacey acted off each other well in the show, both being really talented actors. Although the plot began to spiral into something quite silly and unbelievable past the middle of the movie, the show remains all in all, a watchable movie.

Jackpot !

What I loved most: How the disguise works.

I've read the storybook and it is not as interesting as the movie itself. Seriously, making an adaptation out of a boring book is hard, but Robert Luketic manages to pull it off, making this an interesting premise. It is a very down-to-earth and unpredictable movie if you hasn't read the book. Story goes of a MIT gifted student, Ben (Jim Sturgess), who couldn't pay for his University admission. Since he showed interest and is good in Mathematics, Professor Micky (Kevin Spacey) invited him to a business of counting cards in Las Vegas during the weekend. The poor teenager has to juggle with love, money and making his choice of going with his nerd friends or cool peers. The movie introduces a world and sells it extremely well. It does a good job of explaining the rules of the card-counting scam, and the actual blackjack scenes are quite exciting. It was so under-estimated by fans of summer.

Interesting and hard to find!

I had read the book beforehand so that somehow led to the show not being as exciting as it should have been. But overall this show is very down to earth and definitely suitable for people who like to dream big!

Twenty One 21

What I loved most: The card counting and code word association

What I really hated: Very predictable

Starts of very well and then it flatlines. Expected more from the 'King of Acting' Kevin Spacey who limits his appearances in the movies these days. The muscle in the show was also weak. I would recommend to skip this movie and wait for it to appear on cable maybe 2 years down the road. Sorry folks.
