Certainly, this film is average. Certainly, this film isn't very accessible to the masses. Certainly, the storyline seems too over-the-top. Certainly, it is not as good as 881. Certainly, there are a lot of negative points that one could bring up. But, i am willing to overlook these misforgivings as the committed performances of the cast and director moved me. One doesn't has to look or search too deep into the movie to see the amount of work and effort that went in. Special kudos to Liu and Ong, for splendid acting chomps that was simply a pleasure to watch.

I dont understand why people said that the plot was weak. The underlying theme was how money could corrupt people and make them do things that would seem completely inhumane to others. The random and seemingly out of place scenes? The lead actress had no possible way of making sense of her life and the things that happened to her (despite being portrayed as pure of heart and mind) so why should the movie explain these things to us if there can be no explanations? Why should movies have explanations to everything when life obviously doesnt? it's a perfect movie of how life imitates art and vice versa. and for those people comparing this movie with those by jack neo? they are not even in the same genre so i seriously dont get the point

Still remenber the 881 scene/songs in my memory(Brought the movie/song dvd back then)...But regard to this movie,just 1 word ...DiSSaPoinTeD!!! Royston tan make me feel like he's out to RIPPED everybody $$$$ in the shortest time by rushing out the 12 Lotus at the success of 881(he thought that 'Ge Tai' flicks can be use 2 times) ..He let me feel that he's not pro enough..in this movie industry,if you want to become artistic(you need to invest time/effort in writing script)just like lee ang..or commercial like Jack neo(film what the market like to see and add in some artistic/sad scene in a while),LAstly,artistic/commercial like stephen chow who make 1 movie in 3 yr..Last but not least,he just cant have produced all in 1 goal(commercial/artistic/entertaining/sad...IN SUCH A SHORT TIME)...IF hE really want to produced all this in short short time IT WILL LEAD TO 'NO DIRECTION'..ThkQ!

A nice story of a poor girl who has no friend and had to work for a living to support her daddy's gambling way. She was also cheated by her boyfriend and lead a life on her own as well as in her own world
